Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (BANC) is a not-for-profit community based organisation based in the upper Blue Mountains at Blackheath. We provide a range of services to the local community and to the wider Blue Mountains community.

Blackheath Art Society is a dynamic group of Blue Mountains artists who paint, draw and print in our unique purpose-built Studio. Each week we meet in our different groups to work in the south light-filled space of the Studio.

Rugby League

The Blackheath Bridge Club meets every Monday at the Blackheath Catholic Church Hall. Play begins at 9.30am. All level of players welcome. No partner required.

We run a mixed aged program at Occasional Care for children 4mths – 6yrs. We offer long-term or short-term bookings so that parents can take a break, study or attend appointments. Older children enjoy leadership opportunities and pre-school learning with an Early Childhood Teacher and team of Educators.

The Campbell Rhododendron Gardens are unique in the world – no other garden has attempted to plant exotics underneath their existing native bush on such a large scale. The gardens have a series of nature walks leading to the valley floor and the lake, with limited disabled access – most of the paths from the Lodge are bitumen, as is the service road through the valley. The rest, including all the paths on the far side of the valley, are in a natural state and have a varying number of steps to be negotiated.nn

Friends of Blackheath Pool & Memorial Park has a mission to continue to protect this gem of the Mountains for the community now, & for future generations. Blackheath Memorial Park surrounds Blackheath Pool - one of the most beautifully situated public swimming baths in Australia - set amongst sweeping lawns & mature rhododendrons, at 1065 metres above sea level in the Blue Mountains of NSW. Opened in 1931, The Memorial Park was built by the community, for the community in the years following WW1.

The Heads Up For Fire (HUFF) project is a Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre project that aims to ensure the wellbeing of people within the upper Blue Mountains in the event of bushfires or other emergencies. HUFF facilitators are people who volunteer their time to get to know their neighbours and share information with them about preparing for an emergency.

The Leslie Memorial Presbyterian Church, designed in 1925 by the prominent Sydney architectural firm Ross and Rowe, is a good representative example of an Inter-war gothic church. The associated hall is a good example of a Federation carpenter gothic church in the Blue Mountains, and is the oldest Presbyterian Church in the Blue Mountains. nThe buildings have been associated with Presbyterian worship in the town of Blackheath since c.1900.

Blackheath's discussion group. Friendly supportive atmosphere. Haemochromatosis is the most common genetic disorder in Australia. About 1 in 200 people of northern European origin have the genetic risk for haemochromatosis. People with haemochromatosis absorb too much iron from their diet. The excess iron is stored in the body. Over time this leads to iron overload.

Archery Club run by volunteers and based in Mt Victoria, Blue Mountains NSW, Australia. We shoot on Sunday mornings at Browntown Oval in sunny Mt Victoria, with thanks to Blue Mountains City Council for providing the venue, and Blackheath Rotary Club for providing the clubhouse. We are part of the peak target archery body in Australia, Archery Australia. Our Recognised Governing Body being Archery New South Wales.

Quality local arts & crafts including beautiful handmade jewellery & delicious chocolate fudge, olives direct from the grower, unique paintings, clocks from bush timbers & children's wooden puzzles, honey, jams, pickles & chutney, cards, cakes, Blue Mountains photography, pyrography, scarves, knitwear and much more are available for sale at reasonable prices.

Volunteers assisting the community in times of need.  The Blue Mountains SES is the combat agency for storm and flood response.  The Unit Local Headquarters is located at Katoomba with a training facility also located at Faulconbridge.  Rescue West (Katoomba) training is on most Wednesdays at 7.30pm.  Rescue East (Faulconbridge) training is on most Tuesdays at 7.30pm

Probus is an association of retired and semi-retired people who join together in clubs, the basic purpose of which is to provide regular opportunities for them to keep their minds active, expand their interests and enjoy the fellowship of new friends.

During the Annual Rhododendron Festival the Blackheath village comes alive with entertainment and street stalls. The Grand Parade takes place on the first Saturday in November and the Annual Art Show is held at the Blackheath Community Centre with over 300 exhibits including traditional and contemporary works

What do you call someone who sings in Blackheath? A Heathen of course! We are an inclusive and welcoming choir to all comers, from novices to experienced singers. If you love music but think you can't sing, we don't believe you. Our aim is to get the best possible musical result out of enjoyable rehearsals. In non-pandemic years we perform throughout the year at concerts, local festivals & community events.

The Blackheath Hour is a program of music, interviews and local news. If you are a songwriter, poet, storyteller, or have community news from Blackheath and the surrounding districts we would love to hear from you and join us on the program.

Dinner Meetings are always a night of fellowship and fun with new members and guests welcome. Rotary is a world wide movement helping to make the world a better place. Its motto is "Service Before Self".
