Just Dance Blackheath

Dance like nobody’s watching. People of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Just Dance is a free-movement dance session. We all contribute our favourite dance playlists for each other to just dance.

A few important guidelines:

– No talking on the dance floor. Talking takes us out of mindfulness of our bodies, and can also be a disruption for others. Just dance offers us a space to move without talking, and gives us the opportunity to become more present. However, making sounds and singing along to songs is welcomed and encouraged. There is plenty of space outside of the dance floor for talking.
– No phones or cameras on the dance floor. While we appreciate the desire to capture the beauty of dancing, we never allow photos or recordings on the dance floor. It is critical that we create a safe area where we can move freely without fear of being photographed or recorded on video. Even if they are in the background or out of focus, photos and films violate other people’s privacy.
– No drugs or alcohol. Just dance is a space free from intoxicating substances.
